Poor Roxy has been feeling a bit sore. It's not a subject many people like to discuss, but there are two small glands in a dogs bottom.
They're vital equipment to help a dog mark its territory, but they can often become impacted.
Telltale signs are if your dog is dragging its bottom along the ground.
Healthy anal glands should empty every time a dog goes to the toilet. If they're enlarged, the vet has to express them.
Rest assure, the procedure is very quick and your dog will be feeling much better.
Regular vet checks should keep the problem under control.
